The Little Merman - Part 17 Mariel tries to explain to her dad, the king, why James is not like other pirates. He’s a special guy.

Halfway through the series, this episode recaps the story so far. Mariel is declaring her love for pirate James to her merman king dad. She explains the heroic things he has done, but inadvertently admits she was captured by pirates.

This is a necessary exposition scene, but I added flashback clips to make it more engaging. I’m happy with the eye contact between the father and daughter. It is a beautiful moment in puppetry when you can capture real love and concern.
