The Little Merman - Part 2 Pirate James can swim with sharks thanks to their mutual crab friend.
For the underwater scenes I used another photo background for ‘under the sea’. I added a water effect with a video filter. Although shooting in a 9x16 vertical format is challenging, I have found clever ways to get two characters on screen together but it’s always a bit tricky. The sharks and whales are stacked on top of each other, but since they’re swimming, I felt it made sense.
I finally figured out that a puppeteer shouldn’t always wear black long-sleeve shirts. Instead, their shirt should match the color of the background so it blends in. I’m surprised it took me so long to figure that out. I suppose old habits are hard to break.
